My Approach
Therapy is a powerful tool, whether you’re interested in personal growth or seeking support for exploring deeper wounds. In my clinical approach, I draw from person-centered theories, meaning that I encourage you to come as you are. I will always meet you there with compassion and empathy. I use an attachment-relational lens, and get curious about the impact of your earliest relationships. I often lean on holistic, somatic, and creative healing techniques. All in all, you can expect us to co-create a space where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood.
I believe that many clients come to me with intrinsic wisdom on what they need to heal and I love supporting folks in connecting with their inner knowing, leading them to greater meaning and fulfillment in their lives. I recognize the therapeutic relationship as a significant tool in itself, a microcosm that encapsulates the patterns in your broader life. Our therapeutic bond acts as your gateway to new insights which can lead to self-awareness and lasting growth. My approach recognizes the individual as a whole; mind, body, and soul. I am dedicated to walking alongside my clients on their journeys, while taking great care in the therapeutic relationship we form together.

I do not accept insurance at this time. I accept cash, card, or local checks. It is required to have a debit/credit card kept on file. When paying with a card or check, payment will be processed the day of your appointment. If you intend to pay cash, it is your responsibility to communicate this prior to the end of session. Superbills are available upon request for the purpose of partial insurance reimbursement.

In the event you need to cancel or reschedule our session for any reason, 24 hours notice is required, otherwise a full session fee will be charged. If you are late to a session, you may lose some of that session time.

Frequently Asked Questions 〰️

  • I do not contract with any insurance companies at this time. I accept private pay only. However, I can provide you with a superbill (upon request) for partial or full reimbursement from your insurance company. Reimbursements are usually dependent on if your insurance company accepts “out of network” providers. Please call and discuss with your insurance carrier.

  • I work with clients every week, every/other week, or monthly.

When you are initially starting with a new therapist, weekly attendance is recommended to build a strong therapeutic relationship. Weekly sessions also allow for deeper exploration and potentially faster progress via consistency and commitment.

Some signs that you may be ready to switch from weekly to every/other week sessions are when you can utilize coping skills, you’re progressing toward your therapy goals, and you’re experiencing more stability and relief.

The counseling world refers to monthly sessions as “maintenance” for those who are maintaining already accomplished goals, or those who want to slowly transition out of therapy. However, some clients prefer to see their therapist monthly (for personal or financial reasons). I’m a believer that attending sessions monthly may be better than no therapy at all.

*Depending on your needs and goals, we will openly communicate on a customized approach while adjusting the frequency, as needed, throughout the therapy process.

  • A “late” cancel is when you cancel 24 hours or less before your scheduled session. A full session fee will be collected for late cancellations and no call-no shows. Thank you for understanding.

  • I do! I offer a limited number of sliding scale sessions. Please reach out to me via my “Contact” page and mention this detail in your initial inquiry, or feel free to ask during our consultation call.

  • Don’t worry- there is really no such thing as “doing therapy” incorrectly. Therapy is 1000% for you and in many ways our sessions will often reflect YOU as a person and how you process. Because of this, sessions look differently for every one.

On a side note, the first-timers/newbies to therapy are some of my favorite clients! As a modern and “z-illennial” therapist, I love introducing a new-school version of therapy and breaking the stigma surrounding therapy/therapists (aka almost anything portrayed on TV). Humor and swearing is encouraged. I will show up as a human, and not a blank slate. Most importantly, I will *almost* never ask “How does that make you feel?”

  • I offer writing exercises and journaling, collaging and symbolism/archetype exploration, movement, and poetry.

While expanding your capacity for discomfort is a common theme in therapy, you will never be pressured to participate in a creative offering if you are uninterested.
